When you first launch Algorhythm, you’ll be guided through a quick setup process to configure your account and permissions.

1. Sign In with Google

Algorhythm requires a Google account to sync your notes across devices and unlock cloud features.
  1. Click Get Started on the welcome screen.
  2. Click Sign in with Google.
  3. A browser window will open — sign in with your Google account.
  4. Once authenticated, you’ll be returned to the app automatically.
Your Google account is used for authentication only. Your notes are stored locally and optionally synced to the cloud.

2. Grant Permissions

To function properly, Algorhythm needs access to:

MicrophoneRequired for voice dictation
NotificationsAlerts when processing completes
Screen RecordingOptional, for meeting capture (if enabled)
Click Allow for each permission when prompted. If you accidentally deny a permission, you can grant it later in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

3. AI Model Download

On first launch, Algorhythm downloads the speech recognition model (~500MB). This happens automatically and only needs to complete once.
  • A progress bar shows the download status.
  • Once complete, you’ll be taken to the main app.
The download happens in the background. Ensure you have a stable internet connection for the best experience.
